About Daniel Allison

Daniel Allison is a USA Today bestselling author, oral storyteller, creative coach and Muay Thai fighter. His work is founded on a drive to make Celtic Mythology accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Daniel has performed throughout the world, from the jungles of Peru to Turkish villages, Hebridean hilltops, Indian theatres, Arabian markets and global festivals including Boom, Noisily, Medicine, The Edinburgh International Book Festival, Singapore Storyfest, The Scottish International Storytelling Festival and the Global Eclipse Gathering.

Like all old-style oral storytellers, Daniel never uses a book or a script when performing - his vast repertoire of ancient stories are told entirely from memory and interlaced with the magic of the moment. He has twice walked coast-to-coast across Scotland on bardic storytelling tours supported by Creative Scotland. Daniel leads mythic immersion retreats in the Scottish Highlands (next retreat in spring 2025).

Daniel has written fiction since childhood and completed his first novel, a post-apocalyptic fantasy set in Scotland, in 2016. His first publication was The Orkney Cycle: The Shattering Sea in 2019, followed by Scottish Myths & Legends in 2020. Daniel now works concurrently on writing fantasy, retelling traditional stories and fighting in local stadiums.

Daniel coaches aspiring storytellers through Myth Singers, his year-long Celtic storytelling apprenticeship which takes in new students on Samhain (31st October) each year. He is also available for 1-2-1 storytelling coaching, mindset coaching and book coaching. Daniel’s teaching style aims at achieving technical proficiency in storytelling while making soulful connections to stories and diligently studying the Celtic traditions.

Daniel divides his year between Scotland and Thailand. He is available for storytelling bookings in Scotland, Thailand and internationally, and for interviews and storytelling on podcasts/Youtube etc.
