The winter dark has arrived, and with it comes long nights full of challenge and mystery.
Yet amid the darkness, the hearth fire beckons to us with its promise of light, warmth, companionship and shared dreaming.
Our hearth is lit and we hope you’ll come dwell, vision, and create with us.
We Invite You to The Cave of Dreams
Cave of Dreams is a series of four online workshop-gatherings with Danica Boyce and Daniel Allison, running monthly from January to April 2025. We ran our first series of events from September to December and have been inspired by their success to keep the hearth lit.
In each workshop, Danica and Daniel will present traditional songs, stories and folklore, along with invitations to reflect on the material offered and to draw on these sources for creative and spiritual practice.
We hope for these workshops to be a source of renewal and inspiration for contemporary pagan practice. We will draw on the past while feeding the fire of living tradition with our own creativity and expressions.
These workshops are for everyone who feels called to gather and draw sustenance from song, story, community and creativity.
We come to the cave:
to embrace the inward turning that the darker months offer us
to lend our ears and our voices to the stories and songs that nourished generations of our ancestors
to feed the fire of tradition with discussion, reflection and imagination
to learn the lore of the season and weave it into our lives
to do our individual creative practises together
Your Hosts
Danica Boyce is a paganism and folklore educator. Hailing from Western Canada and now based in Scotland, Danica is the host of the hugely popular Fair Folk podcast.
Danica’s courses focus on contemporary paganism, historical paganism and on the medieval European world. Popular offerings have included Abundance Paganism and Gathering the Gods. Her latest project is a course on Pagan Ritual Song.
Danica’s combination of rigorous scholarship with bold, contemporary ideas and a living pagan practice make her a unique and greatly exciting teacher.
Daniel Allison is an oral storyteller, USA Today bestselling author, creativity coach and Muay Thai fighter from Scotland. His work is centred on making Celtic Mythology exciting and accessible for everyone.
He hosts the House of Legends podcast and is the author of Irish Mythology: The Children of Danu, Scottish Myths & Legends I & II, Finn & The Fianna and The Orkney Cycle.
Daniel’s Myth Singers Celtic Storytelling Apprenticeship provides a unique online study program which has produced professional and award-winning storytellers.
Daniel loves to dream into the gaps in Celtic mythology, exploring its vast empty spaces and discovering what creativity, devotion and ceremonial practice can create there.
At Each Gathering You’ll Experience:
folk song sessions led by Danica
myths/legends/folk tales told by Daniel
seasonal folklore
‘feeding the story’ reflective sessions
shared creative practice time (with no obligation to show your work)
